Getting expert help with shoe fitting is easy especially if you go to a shoe store that is geared toward the serious athlete. Do not assume that because a shoe is comfortable that is a good fit for you. You really should let the experts handle that. If you have been fitted before, it is a good idea to get refitted every few years to accommodate the changes in your foot.

After getting your gear, it’s time to begin training. You need to know that a lot of dedication is required. If you are pretty sedentary and don’t exercise much you might want to start training a year before the date of the marathon to get ready. You will need to start eating a healthy, balanced diet and working out every day.

Running is not something you have to do when you first start your marathon training. You can do aerobics, ride your bike or rollerblade. In the beginning the most important thing is getting better endurance and being able do physical activity for long periods of time.
